The Experience
Confidence is the best accessory that a girl can wear. Outside of that, finding the colors that match your skin tone is the next best thing. Last year, the one thing I did that made the most significant impact was getting my seasonal color analysis done. It was the best thing ever! My best friend and I got our seasonal color analysis done by a House of Colours (HOC) consultant, and it was simply amazing. There are four different seasonal color analysis palettes that you can be classified as summer, spring, autumn, or winter. During the 3-hour session, the HOC consultant matched several different shades of colors on my skin tone and found the color palette that worked best for me. I found out that I am a “winter” color palette. Once I found that out, the whole shopping game changed for me.
How to find a consultant
The first step in finding your color palette is to look for a House of Colours consultant in your area. You can find that here. When searching for a consultant, the three things that I looked for were: Did they have an Instagram or website page of other clients that they did a seasonal color analysis on? Did they have experience with doing a seasonal color analysis on clients of color? Did they have an LTK page with clothing color examples matching my winter palette?
Why it matters!
Finding my colors has been such a game-changer. I am ready to wear all the Summer dresses (in my color of course) like this cute dress with this pink blazer. I use my Winter color palette for everything, and it goes everywhere when I am shopping. I even use it to choose nail colors when I am getting my nails done, and I get the perfect shade every single time! I have even used it when choosing the frames for my glasses. A winter color palette looks excellent in all shades of blue frames for glasses. I would have never thought that. I have linked a few of my favorite “winter” palette colors below. I also learned that reds are a great lipstick color for me, and I have been wearing them more often. I am really pleased with this, and I know you will be too. Next up, I am looking forward to getting my style analysis done to see what type of style personality I have.
