I originally planned on writing a fun post about some pretty cool restaurants and things to do for Mother’s Day but as you can guess, due to COVID-19 that won’t be happening. So, I decided I can still share some fun stay-at-home ideas and gifts that EVERY Mother wants for Mother’s Day. Tell the guy and kids in your life that they can’t go wrong with any of these.
Sleep in– Yes! You got that right! Even if I can’t sleep past 5 a.m., which is typical for me, allow me time to rest in bed, catch up on my favorite morning news or peruse my favorite blogger website (like The 3 Boy Mom Blog) uninterrupted. This means that I will be warning my husband that he is on KID duty. And of course, nothing says SLEEP better than my cozy Soma Sleep Top and Pants. I always sleep so much better when I am wearing it!
Breakfast in bed– tell your family what your favorite breakfast meal is and allow them to pamper you with it for breakfast. If they can’t cook, just ask them to order for pick up/delivery from your favorite restaurant. My favorite breakfast is pan sausage and egg breakfast tacos with fresh fruit and orange juice. This breakfast in bed tray makes it easier for the boys when planning to bring their mommy a special meal.
Clean House– yep, I have already instructed my boys that this momma doesn’t want to clean anything and she wants them to clean everything. In fact, I plan on requesting this vacuum for Mother’s Day because it allows us all to get a break from vacuuming. This is on my wish list for sure! It is an investment so I may or may not get it. LOL!My house usually isn’t too much of a mess because we implement daily cleaning rules but this momma usually picks up most of the cleaning and cooking slack.
Handwritten Letter from the kids– I love to read sweet notes from my boys and I have requested this year that they leave me a handwritten letter for Mother’s Day. Handwritten letters are my favorite gift and one I will cherish FOREVER. Earlier, this year I purchased this cool Loom Journal to strengthen my son’s writing skills and to develop a special bond between us. He is my second son and, as a typical middle child, he is always craving that extra attention. LOL! I found a way to create a special bond between us by using this journal. He LOVES it. And so do I!
Tennis Shoes– I have grown to love taking walks with my family. During this time in quarantine we have been taking family walks daily. It has allowed us to bond with each other, which was an outcome that I didn’t expect, but it is something we all love to do. I workout and walk daily in my Brooks Shoes and I LOVE THEM. If you prefer shoe comfort and support when working out, please request these shoes. They are perfect. You won’t regret it. I PROMISE!
A nice candle– so I am a sucker for great smelling candles. My favorite candle of all time from Anthropologie burns in my home daily. Candles allow me to focus and relax AND they make my home smell so fresh! I have been eyeing this pretty design and put this candle on my list for Mother’s Day.
My favorite pot (Similar)- Although I don’t plan on cooking at all on Mother’s Day (did I mention that already LOL) I wanted to share a pot that I use daily and it makes a huge difference in how my meals turn out. My husband and three boys love their daily meals (which have increased to 3 cooked meals a day) and that means that I have to have all the right tools to cook with. Be sure to request this (similar) dutch oven for Mother’s Day. It will be the WOW that the special mother in your life needs. It’s on SALE! You can thank me later.
Fresh Perfume-What woman doesn’t love smelling fresh? I sure do! My husband is ALWAYS complimenting me every time I wear this pear and freesia scent Jo Malone perfume. This scent is the perfect blend of fresh and floral. This perfume makes me feel feminine and confident.
Kendra Scott Jewelry– I have been on a search for the “classic” pair of Kendra Scott earrings. I found them! These are my favorites and can be worn with anything. I LOVE that they are lightweight which means I can wear them everyday! These are my go-to hoops and are the perfect gift. You can’t go wrong with them.
What is on top of your wish list this Mother’s Day? I hope your Mother’s Day is filled with many precious memories with your little loved ones and lots of rest. I plan on relaxing, not cooking, and enjoying time with my three boys!
