Autumn is a beautiful time of year. After the crazy year we have had; I am looking forward to a little holiday cheer. LOL! Holidays mean special memories for my family and me. Making my house smell like Fall is one of my favorite things to do for the holidays, and it stays on my Fall bucket list. The sight of leaves changing colors and the smell of a fresh Fall home always gives me the cozies inside. There is no better memory than walking into a home that smells like all the things that Fall brings. Clearly, I love to smell. LOL! Take me to a candle store, and I could get lost for hours.
Here are a few ways to make your house smell like Fall:
Fall Candles
I am a sucker for ALL of the Fall scents. I have a small cabinet in my guest bathroom that houses multiple candles, so I pull them out when I need them. They make my house smell DELICIOUS! My favorite is Anthropologie’s Pumpkin Clove Candle. Lighting a Fall candle gives me ALL the Autumn feels.
Pinecones
Cinnamon scented pinecones are great to put at the table where your family gathers the most. My boys are always delighted to smell something amazing while watching a family movie in the living room.
Home Plug-Ins
Air wick’s Apple Cinnamon plug-in is a MUST. Be careful to watch when the liquid goes out to prevent fire hazards.
Fall Stove Top Potpourri
It’s so simple to make a Fall stovetop potpourri. You take 1 lemon peel, 1 orange peel, 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 tablespoons of cloves, and 4 cups of water and simmer them on low. You can also do this in your crockpot on low for a few hours. Be sure to watch to ensure the liquid does not dry out.
Essential Oil Blends
I love a good essential oil blend. We use Young Living Essential Oils in my home. I like the Spiced Cider diffuser blend, which includes 3 drops Orange, 2 drops Ginger, and 2 drops Cinnamon.
You can’t go wrong with any of these ways. I can’t wait to hear about what ways you will try first. What other things do you do to make your house smell like Fall? Drop them in the comments below; I can’t wait to hear.

I love all of these tips share and generally implement them through out the year as I love burning candles and using the wallflowers from Bath and Body works. But, I love your potpourri that you shared. Thanks so much Sherrell
