“So what’s for dinner?” This is the dreaded question that I get EVERY SINGLE DAY from my boys. LOL! If you are a busy mom like me you are always trying to prep, plan, and execute breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the quickest (and healthiest) way possible. In this blog, I was going to originally share ONE of my favorite cookbooks but instead I am going to share my TOP 5 cookbooks that will help you get dinner from the fridge to the table without all the stress of trying to “figure out” what to cook.
Here are my TOP 5 Cookbooks in order:
- Cook Once Eat All Week by Cassy Jay Garcia is MY FAVORITE COOKBOOK hands down. This cookbook has you prep once and you eat a variety of meals all week. Most recipes are less than 30 minutes and they are super flavorful.. She even has you buy veggies based on the season. All her recipes are delicious AND healthy. If I didn’t have any other cookbook and I had to choose. This would be FIRST on my list.
- The Magnolia Table Volume 2 by Joanna Gaines. I love her down home southern recipes. I will warn you that some of these recipes take a bit more cooking time but they are SO WORTH IT! I love how Joanna gives you the approximate total amount of time it will take you to cook that dish.
- Skinny Taste One & Done by Gina Homolka is a busy mom’s guide to QUICK no-fuss dinners. I love that this book gives you multiple options for cooking such as Instant Pot, Slow Cooker, Air Fryer, Skillet, Dutch Oven, etc. When I am short on time and looking for quick recipe this is my go-to.
- Callie’s Biscuits and Southern Traditions by Carrie Morey is a awesome cookbook when you are looking to make a good ole’ southern down home meal like homemade biscuits and fried chicken. I made her special waffle recipe and the boys ate all the waffles in one sitting. My family LOVES her recipes and I cook them on Saturday mornings when I have a few extra moments and want to make my breakfast with a little extra time and love.
- The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs is a cookbook that my kids selected. They LOVE trying new recipes and being in the kitchen with their mom. It creates lots of special memories for my family. My 10 and 6 year old have already made the mouth watering brownies and I am surprised they were able to make them so well. You want to keep this cookbook on hand to make those priceless cooking memories with you kids.
There you have it. My top 5 favorite cookbooks of all time. I hope this helps you continue to curate happy and healthy bellies in your home by filling them with homemade meals. I typically cook at home 5 days out of the week and the family is on their own for two days. LOL! This momma needs break sometimes. Which cookbook are you going to get?
